Multi-activity winter adventure

Day 1 :

Your trip starts in Otta. Depending on your flight’s time of arrival and after picking up your rental vehicle, I suggest we meet at Café Pilarguri in Otta over coffee or tea to discuss the journey that awaits you, answer your questions and give you your final roadmap! Then you will head for the small mountain village of Høvringen.

Day 2 :

Today, have a quiet breakfast at the hotel and then explore Rondane National Park on snowshoes or cross-country skis (you can rent the skis from the hotel). Høvringen has hundreds of miles of ski/snowshoe slopes/trails that are not too steep and are ideal for beginners or families. We will discuss together the different options of hiking.

You can’t get it wrong anyway. Any track you follow will take you through nature and beautiful sceneries.

Day 3 :

Today you leave the small village of Høvringen to go to the valley of the river Sjoa where a small cabin awaits you. Before you get there, don’t hesitate to make a stop in “town” in Otta, for example, to do some shopping as you will need to prepare your own meals in the cabin. Settle down nicely, you have the day off.

Day 4 :

A beautiful day is waiting for you today! You have an appointment with Jotunheimen Husky for a dog sledding trip in the heart of the Jotunheimen mountains. After a brief training and presentation of the dogs, you will take control of your own team of dogs and your own sled for 3 hours of pure Nordic wonders.

Day 5 :

Today, take your time to eat breakfast, then head to the bank of Sjoa River for a unique experience. Have you ever practiced ice-canyoning? No? Here’s your opportunity. This activity allows you to explore the frozen river and admire the different formations shaped by cold and frost. Bring comfortable warm clothes, sunglasses and sunscreen.

You will be accompanied by a professional English-speaking guide. Small groups guaranteed: less than 10 people.

Day 6 :

Today is a free day. You leave your small cabin for a unique accommodation on the mountainside where Nathalie and Philippe will welcome you into their sheep farm. These French people settled in Norway for 18 years will introduce you to their beautiful and traditional valley.

NIGHT: Arctic Dome

INCLUDED MEALS: Breakfast

Day 7 :

After your night under the stars, you are awaited on the other side of the mountain, south of the Rondane massif (about 50 minutes drive). Your hosts welcome you into their lodge and will offer you several activities, including an ice fishing session!

Day 8 :

It is an active day that awaits you today. For ski enthusiasts, you can go on a ski tour accompanied by a tour guide. The equipment will be provided. Just bring clothes adapted to this sport and the temperatures. If you are not comfortable skiing, snowshoe rental is also an option.

Day 9 :

For your last day, you have the day off. You can rent snowshoes to explore the surroundings again or take advantage of your last day to rest, admire the landscape and take it all in!

Day 10 :

Take the road back to Oslo Airport with the memory of an unforgettable and unique Norwegian experience in your minds and hearts.
